Other than an Exhibition (Not Institutional Critique and yet realism in art, that is the hardest thing).

WOM (Word of Mouth) is pleased to present a salon style talk and discussion with the artist Christopher Yuda.

During the talk, the artist will attempt to make clear how these decisions have informed the title: Other than an Exhibition (Not Institutional Critique and yet realism in art, that is the hardest thing).

Christopher Yuda (b. 1994) is a visual artist originally from North Carolina, who has lived in both New Mexico and New York. In the years following their graduation from Bard College in 2023, the artist focused their attention on writing, despite entering the program as a painter. This coincided with a relocation to Paris, France, where they are currently based.

WOM (Word of Mouth) is a series of experimental lectures that happen in the garden, in the library, in the living room, in the bookstore, in the kitchen, and on the street. Each presenter is asked to share work that feels new, experimental or prescient to them in some way. Sometimes this takes the form of a performance, sometimes a more traditional lecture. The audience are invited through word of mouth to attend each experimental lecture. They will pass along the time, location, and presenter to each other, person to person through a direct link of communication.

After the lecture people will have time to converse.
